Bulk Candy & Gumball Machine Locations: An Update

Kick Start Locations used to be a bulk vending locator for candy, gumball, sticker and toy machines. We no longer locate them. Here's what that means for you.

What changed

We no longer locate these machines

For years, operators came to Kick Start Locations for bulk vending locations: U-Turn and Vendstar style candy machines, single, double and triple head units, spiral gumball machines, sticker and toy machines. We no longer provide a bulk vending locating service.

Vending Exchange, where we now suggest operators get location leads, is built for full-size equipment. Its location leads don't cover bulk candy, gumball, sticker or toy machines.

Please note: Kick Start Locations no longer locates bulk candy, gumball, sticker or toy machines, or honor boxes and snack boxes. Vending Exchange location leads don't cover them either. Location leads on Vending Exchange are for full-size snack, beverage and combo vending machines, healthy vending, smart coolers and micro markets.

General guidance

If you're placing these machines yourself

Bulk machines are small, usually need no power, and each sale is small, so placement drives everything. If you're finding bulk vending locations on your own, these basics still apply:

  • Look for waiting and passing traffic. Spots by an entrance, a checkout or waiting chairs tend to work best.
  • Ask about rules first. Some owners don't want candy or toy machines, and schools may not allow them at all.
  • Keep it clean and full. A tidy, stocked machine is what keeps an owner happy.
  • Put any arrangement in writing. If you offer a commission or donation, spell it out.

Some vending locators still sell bulk vending locations. If you go that route, ask what the fee covers before you pay.

If you're ready to grow beyond bulk, a full-size snack or beverage machine, a smart cooler or a micro market can serve a whole breakroom. Those are the types where Vending Exchange location leads are available.
